About us
	Shanghai Research Institute of Chemical Industry (SRICI) was established in September 1956. 　　 The major research fields of SRICI include: Stable Isotope Separation Technology, Organic Polymer Technology, Chemical Engineering, New Materials, Catalyst Technology, Chemical Fertilizers, Fine Chemicals, Biochemical Technology, Environmental Protection and other specialized subjects.

Being a comprehensive scientific research and engineering setup for chemical industry, SRICI is trying hard to build up into a “World Famous Research and Development Enterprise on Series Stable Isotopes”. And now is in china the leading research and manufacturing base on stable isotopes.

	From the 1960's, SRICI began the research on separating ²H, ¹⁵N, ¹³C, ²²Ne ...etc. In 2000 SRICI built the world's largest 15N separation facility, which has met the 60% 15N needs of worldwide consumers.

In 2002 SRICI took cognizance of the extensive need of the Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and began the research on separating ¹⁸O. SRICI constructed its first ¹⁸O water distillation plant in China. This plant meets advanced world standards and now has an annual production capacity of 50 Kg, and expanded to 100 Kg per year at 2007.
